Translations serve as a bridge in the world of literature, connecting diverse cultures, languages, and societies. When English literature is translated into Urdu, it involves not only a change of language but also the transfer of social and cultural values. This paper aims to provide a comprehensive analysis of the social and cultural issues encountered in the translation of English literature into Urdu.The purpose of this paper is to identify the challenges faced by translators during the translation process, such as linguistic complexities, cultural differences, and social contexts. Furthermore, this paper will examine the impact of these translations on Urdu-speaking readers. The paper will analyze various English literary works translated into Urdu to assess the extent to which these translations preserve the original text's meaning and essence. Additionally, the challenges encountered during these translations, such as cultural discrepancies, religious differences, and social barriers will be discussed. It is hoped that this research will provide valuable insights into the difficulties present in translating English literature into Urdu and offer potential solutions. This, in turn, will assist translators in producing better translations and foster improved understanding and communication between different cultures.
