Abstract

Shafi Aqeel's book "Adab aur Adabi Makalmay" includes interviews with about 31 people. He started it during the period when he worked in the daily "Pakistan". The virtue of this book is that most of the preface presented at the beginning of it consists of letters. The title of the preface is "Makalmay sy Pehly". Shafi Aqeel has included an account of his early life and a beautiful account of moving to Karachi. When Shafi Aqeel moved to Karachi, he started working in the daily "Jang" and Majeed Lahori's "Namakdan". At the same time, he chose the weekly "Chattan" in connection with literary work. The style, diction, presentation of personalities in a beautiful way, and sequence of interview questions are the beauty of the interviews conducted by Shafi Aqeel.
