A Critical Review of Dr. Qari Muhammad Tahir's "Sharah Nafais-e-Iqbal"

Abstract

Professor Dr Qari Muhammad Tahir was a legend of Faisalabad. He was a Qari of the Quran incarnate. He was a Professor of Arabic, remained Chairman of the Department of Arabic at Govt College University Faisalabad, and joined Riphah International University Faisalabad Campus on the invitation of renowned educationist Prof Dr Muddassir Ahmad. He issued monthly “Al Tajweed” to spread the correct pronunciation of the Holy Quran. He was the writer of several books. Sharah Nafais-e-Iqbal is the explanation of Iqbal’s selected poetry. His style is lucid, relative, and logical. One of the highlights of "Sharh Nafais-e-Iqbal", whichever poems came up for interpretation, is the book in which they are included, he also quotes this book with a clear mention and gives a light introduction to it. Nafais-e-Iqbal includes poems by Bange Dara, Zarbe Kaleem, Bale Jibril, and Armaghane Hejaz. The reader did not forget to present the names of these books and a little introduction to each poem.
