Abstract

Habib Jalib's poetry is one of the powerful voices of resistance poetry in Urdu language. Habib Jalib did not just talk about changing the system like the communist poets. He raised the word of truth before the oppressive rulers of his time. Despite being a progressive poet, Habib was not averse to religion. Instead of adopting a symbolic style, he challenged global imperialist powers and domestic dictators by name. Habib Jalib had to go to jail many times because of his rebellious expression. But he always raised pen on economic and political exploitation.
