Abstract

Khubaib Zahid, born on March 8, 1978, in a small village near Jaranwala, Faisalabad, is a prominent figure in Pakistani literature. After memorizing the Quran, he pursued religious studies and obtained his MA in Arabic and Islamic Studies. In 2002, he passed the Punjab Public Service Commission exam and began his career as a lecturer. Currently an assistant professor, Zahid's first book was published in 2004 and his first poetry collection, "Gham Aina," in 2014. To date, he has published eight books, including children's stories and a psychological treatise. Zahid primarily writes Ghazals, addressing themes like poverty, injustice, capitalism, and patriotism with a revolutionary undertone in his poems. His poetry reflects a progressive mindset, advocating for social change and equality. Influenced by Allama Iqbal, Habib Jalib, and Faiz Ahmed Faiz, Zahid's work resonates with themes of resistance against oppression and exploitation. His poetry emphasizes the plight of the working class and the necessity for societal transformation. Zahid's progressive and revolutionary perspective positions him as a significant contemporary poet, echoing the sentiments of earlier progressive movements in Pakistani literature.
