“To a Skylark” is a long, famous poem by Percy Bysshe Shelley. This poem is considered one of the outstanding poems of English literature. In this article, there will be six reviews by six different translators. They all have translated this poem in their own styles. Shabnam Gorakhpuri translated P.B. Shelley’s poem under the title “To a Skylark.". Syed Muhammad Yousaf Qaisar translated it as “Aik Lawy se Khitab,” while Muhammad Abbas Kazmi Nisha Puri retained the original title, “Skylark.” Fazal Ilahi Qureshi translated its most famous eighteenth stanza and titled it “Itminan-e-Qalb.” Asar Luckhnawi translated it as “Naghma-e-Mujasam,” and Syed Shakir Ali Jafri titled his translation “Papiha”. All of them are fine pieces of work and very informative for Urdu readers. These translations, each a fine effort, make Shelley’s timeless poem easy to understand for Urdu readers and add value to Urdu literature. Together, they act as a bridge between cultures and are an important addition to literary heritage.
