Abstract

The philosophy and poetry of Allama Iqbal address the colonial context, emphasizing the revival of Muslim identity and intellectual independence. His works advocate for cultural freedom and spiritual empowerment, condemning colonial exploitation as a cause of Muslim societal decline. Influenced by both Eastern and Western thought, Iqbal developed a universal vision of unity and humanity, rooted in the Qur'an and the Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) teachings. Central to his philosophy is the concept of "Khudi" (selfhood), promoting self-awareness as a foundation for progress. Iqbal criticized Western materialism and democracy for their limitations, encouraging Muslims to adopt principles of justice and equity based on Islamic values. He viewed education and action as interconnected forces for transformative change. His poetry, characterized by philosophical depth and linguistic elegance, carries timeless messages of resilience, courage, and global unity. Addressing themes such as identity, existence, and struggle, Iqbal presents a holistic intellectual framework that transcends religious, national, and ethnic boundaries. His message remains universally relevant, offering profound insights into personal and collective growth.
